Mendilibar: "We needed the win to believe again"

Olympiacos coach, José Luis Mendilibar, emphasized the importance of the 2-0 derby win over AEK, saying his team needed it to regain their confidence.

In his post-match statements at the "Georgios Karaiskakis" stadium, Mendilibar also referred to Taremi, noting that he is not yet at 100% and that he hopes he will improve as the season progresses.

"We needed to return to winning ways after the two consecutive defeats we had, in order to believe in our strength again," Mendilibar stated.

Referring to Taremi, he said: "He is not yet at 100%, he did not have a good preparation with us and was not in good shape when he came to us. We hope he will improve as the season progresses."
