AEK Set to Sign Marko GrujiÄ ā Profile and Career Overview
AEK is expected to finalize the acquisition of Marko GrujiÄ to strengthen its midfield. The 29-year-old Serbian midfielder is expected in Greece for medical examinations and contract signing.
GrujiÄ became a free agent after leaving Porto and will continue his career at AEK. He started at the academy of Red Star Belgrade, played on loan at Kolubara, and established himself at Red Star before moving to Liverpool in 2015. He was a member of the Serbian team that won the U20 World Cup.
At Liverpool, JĆ¼rgen Klopp described him as a player with a bright future, but he failed to establish himself. This was followed by a loan spell at Hertha Berlin, where he had a positive presence. At Porto, he played in 78 league games.
GrujiÄ is a dynamic midfielder, capable both defensively and creatively. He has good technical skills and a strong physique. However, he has faced injuries in his career.
