Yiannis Tsoukalas: Attack After Kickboxing Match in Serbia

A colleague of kickboxer Yiannis Tsoukalas described the violent attack suffered by the athlete and his team after a kickboxing match in Novi Pazar, Serbia. According to Pavlos Kochliaridis, Tsoukalas' colleague and coach at PAOK, approximately 100 people stormed the ring after Tsoukalas' victory over Vahid Kicara.
Kochliaridis stated that Kicara's brother punched Tsoukalas while he was kneeling in a sign of respect. Subsequently, dozens of people attacked Tsoukalas' team, resulting in injuries. Tsoukalas was transferred to a hospital in Belgrade for precautionary examinations and has returned to Greece.
Serbian media report that members of Kicara's team attacked Tsoukalas, while organizers claimed there was insufficient security personnel to handle the situation.
