Kostas Sloukas stated that the upcoming Eurobasket is likely his last tournament with the Greek National Team. The Panathinaikos captain expressed his desire to win a medal, something Greece has been aiming for since 2009.

Speaking to FIBA, Sloukas referred to the role of Vasilis Spanoulis and the presence of Giannis Antetokounmpo in the team.

"It is a great honor, pride, I have been representing my National Team since I was 12-13 years old and I have only missed it due to injuries. And I can say that I have a sense of responsibility because it is likely to be my last tournament and I want to leave a very good legacy, uniting all Greeks with a success," he stated.

Regarding Spanoulis' role, he said: "The most special thing is Vasilis Spanoulis, the coach. He is a leading personality. He tries to pass on his philosophy, a winning philosophy."

Referring to Greece's group, he emphasized: "It is a very difficult group. The important thing for us is to build our chemistry day by day, to look at the friendly games to correct our mistakes."

Regarding the tournament favorites, Sloukas said: "I think Serbia is one step ahead of everyone. Germany is close behind. I also see Turkey with a good roster."

About Giannis Antetokounmpo, he stated: "What makes him special is the work ethic, he works very, very hard and is dedicated to basketball."
