Giorgos Papagiannis: "My love for Panathinaikos remains"

Giorgos Papagiannis will play for Efes next season, leaving Monaco. In an interview with Euro Insiders, he spoke about his love for Panathinaikos and his decision to play outside of Greece.

"I don't know what the future holds, but my love for Panathinaikos remains. My decision to play outside of Greece was purely personal," Papagiannis stated.

Referring to the French league finals, he commented: "It was a very bad image, especially for me watching it on television. Unfortunately, the attention was turned to off-court events and not basketball."

Papagiannis was the top shot-blocker in the Euroleague, with 1.4 blocks per game. He has signed a 2+1 year contract with Efes.
