Artemis Spanou: Birthday and First Training with Panathinaikos

International basketball player Artemis Spanou had her first training session with the Panathinaikos team while celebrating her birthday. The 33-year-old power forward/center returned to Greece after 16 years to strengthen Panathinaikos.

Spanou, who was born in Rhodes and comes from Leros, has a remarkable career abroad and studied psychology specializing in sports psychology. She has played for the national teams of Girls, Juniors and Women.

The president of Panathinaikos amateur, Dimitris Vranopoulos, also attended the New Year's training session. Her teammates prepared a surprise cake for her birthday.

Among other achievements, she has won 2 Polish Championships (2018, 2021) and a Spanish Cup (2015). She has played for Panionios, Robert Morris University (USA), Istanbul University (Turkey), Uni Girona (Spain), Polkowice (Poland), UNI Gyor (Hungary), Arka Gdynia (Poland), Bourge (France), Brno (Czech Republic).
