Miltiadis Tentoglou stated that he would prefer to jump 8.40m and finish last in the Diamond League final in Zurich, rather than win with a shorter distance.

In an interview ahead of the final, Tentoglou explained that such a performance would give him confidence for the World Championships. "I'd rather jump 8.40m and be last. I'll have a lot of confidence afterwards for the World Championships," he said.

Tentoglou also stated that he feels in good shape, similar to what he was before the 2023 World Championships in Budapest. "I think I'm in a similar shape to what I was before Budapest," he mentioned.

Regarding his presence in indoor athletics, Tentoglou commented on his fifth place in the World Indoor Championships in Nanjing, saying that it was not a surprise due to his poor health.

The Diamond League final in Zurich is Tentoglou's last race before the World Championships.
