Emmanouil Karalis made history at the Panthessaliko Stadium, breaking the Greek national record in pole vault with a jump of 6.08m. This achievement ranks him 4th of all time worldwide.

On June 29, 2024, in Volos, he broke Kostas Filippidis' record of 5.92m, reaching 5.93m. On August 25, 2024, in Silesia, Poland, he became the first Greek athlete to surpass 6 meters at the Diamond League.

"I love competing in Greece... When I was little, I couldn't even dream that I would reach fourth of all time," Karalis stated after his historic jump.
