Jeremy Allen White: Struggled to Play Bruce Springsteen

Jeremy Allen White stated that it took him a long time to accept that he could play Bruce Springsteen in the movie 'Deliver Me from Nowhere'.
The 35-year-old actor, known from the series 'The Bear', confessed that he found it difficult to embody Springsteen, as he felt isolated and depressed. Speaking to the Sunday Times, he mentioned that playing psychologically traumatized characters has affected his mental health.
White stated that the production was 'incredibly difficult' and that he was away from his daughters. Bruce Springsteen himself admitted that he felt guilty watching Jeremy play him on set.
The actor revealed that he trained systematically for months to prepare for the role. Springsteen stated that White was his first choice for the role, as he loved his performance in 'The Bear'.
