Robbie Williams surpasses The Beatles in UK album charts

Robbie Williams has surpassed The Beatles to become the artist with the most number-one albums on the UK charts. This achievement comes with the success of his latest album, 'Britpop'.

The Official Charts Company announced the news, noting that since his first solo album, 'Life Thru A Lens' in 1997, Williams has had 16 albums reach the top spot. His sales in the UK alone amount to approximately 20 million albums.

'Britpop', released on January 16, 2026, is his first recorded album since 2019. Martin Talbot, chief executive of the Official Charts, congratulated Williams on his success.

Besides The Beatles (15 number-one albums), Robbie Williams is ahead of The Rolling Stones (14), Taylor Swift (14), and Elvis Presley (13). Throughout his career, he has sold over 80 million albums worldwide.
