The death of Giorgio Armani, the iconic fashion designer, has been announced with sadness at the age of 91. The Armani Group confirmed the loss of its creator and founder, who passed away in Milan.

His body will lie in state on Saturday, September 6, and Sunday, September 7, at the Armani/Teatro in Milan. The funeral will be held privately, according to his wishes.

Giorgio Armani is considered one of the most influential designers of the 20th and 21st centuries, with creations that changed the fashion industry. His company, with annual revenues of nearly $2.7 billion, built an empire worth over $10 billion.

Despite health problems, Armani continued to work until his last days, watching rehearsals via video calls and checking clothes. He was known for the clean lines and minimal character of his designs, as well as for supporting women's right to express themselves through their clothes.

He initially studied medicine but soon devoted himself to fashion. He founded his first company in 1975 and managed to change the world of fashion. His portfolio includes the Giorgio Armani and Emporio Armani clothing lines, as well as the Armani Privé haute couture company and the Armani/Casa design and interiors range.
