French actress and singer Brigitte Bardot, known as an international sex symbol, has died at the age of 91. She rose to international fame with the film 'And God Created Woman' in 1956.

Born in Paris in 1934, Bardot started as a dancer and model before entering cinema. She starred in numerous French and international films, including 'Viva Maria!' and 'Shalako'.

She then pursued a music career and recorded 'Je T’Aime… Moi Non Plus' with Serge Gainsbourg. In 1973, she retired from acting and dedicated herself to animal rights advocacy, founding the Brigitte Bardot Foundation in 1986.
