Actor Paul Mescal has announced that he will be taking a break from the spotlight for the next two years. As he stated to the Guardian, he plans to take a hiatus until 2028.

The reason for this decision is his new films, 'The History of Sound' and 'Hamnet,' as well as his participation in the ambitious production about the Beatles, where he will play Paul McCartney, under the direction of Sam Mendes.

After the awards season, Mescal will begin filming the Beatles project, which will consist of four separate fictional films, each dedicated to a member of the band. The premiere is scheduled for 2028. Additionally, he will participate in 'Merrily We Roll Along,' the film adaptation of the musical by Stephen Sondheim.

Mescal, who became known from the series 'Normal People,' has participated in nine films in five years, including: 'The Lost Daughter,' 'God's Creatures,' 'Aftersun,' 'Carmen,' and 'All of Us Strangers.'

'I don't want to end up hating what I love,' the Irish actor stated.
