Actor Bruce Campbell, known for his role in the 'Evil Dead' franchise, has announced that he has been diagnosed with cancer. Campbell shared the news on social media, stating that the type of cancer he has been diagnosed with is 'treatable' but not 'curable'.

The actor stated that he made his condition public to prevent any false information and assured fans not to worry. Campbell became known for his performance as Ash Williams in the movie 'The Evil Dead' (1981) and its sequels.

In addition, he has appeared in Sam Raimi's 'Spider-Man' trilogy and in films by the Coen brothers. Campbell mentioned that he will have to cancel some appearances and conventions due to his treatment, but plans to tour with his new film 'Ernie & Emma' in the fall.
