Woody Harrelson Rules Out Return to True Detective

Woody Harrelson has made it clear that he will not be returning to True Detective. The 64-year-old actor, who starred in the first season of the series alongside Matthew McConaughey, stated that he does not wish to reprise the role of Marty Hart.

In an interview on the «3rd Hour of Today» show, Harrelson emphasized that the first season concluded successfully and he does not want to «taint» it with a potential return. The series won five Emmy Awards and earned Golden Globe nominations for both lead actors.

Although he ruled out the possibility of working with McConaughey again on True Detective, Harrelson revealed that they plan to collaborate on a half-hour comedy.

Subsequent seasons of True Detective also starred Colin Farrell, Rachel McAdams, Mahershala Ali, Taylor Kitsch, Vince Vaughn, and Jodie Foster.
