Nicole Kidman has recounted the moment she learned of her mother, Janelle Ann Kidman's, death, shortly before receiving the Best Actress award at the 2024 Venice Film Festival for her performance in 'Babygirl'.

During a discussion at HISTORYTalks in Philadelphia, Kidman described her efforts to return to her family after receiving the tragic news. The actress emphasized that her mother was 'a big part of her existence' and that her loss was devastating.

At the festival, the director of 'Babygirl', Halina Reijn, read a written statement on Kidman's behalf, in which the actress expressed her grief and dedicated the award to her mother.

Kidman has previously spoken about her mother's defining influence on her life, describing her as a 'guide' and 'compass' in everything she did.
