Iron Maiden: Former Singer Paul Mario Day Passes Away

Paul Mario Day, the first singer of the band Iron Maiden, has passed away at the age of 69. The news of his death was announced by his band, More.
Day was hired by bassist Steve Harris in 1975 when he founded Iron Maiden. He remained with the band from 1975 to 1976 before being replaced by Dennis Willcock. According to a video about the band's formation, he was fired due to a lack of stage presence.
In an Instagram post, the band More stated: "We are deeply saddened to learn of the death of the great singer of More, Paul Mario Day... He was a much-loved figure in British rock music."
Day participated in the legendary Monsters of Rock concert in 1981 at Castle Donington with AC/DC and Whitesnake.
