Selena Gomez Opens Up About Body Shaming: 'I'm Very Sensitive'

Selena Gomez has spoken candidly about her experiences with body shaming and her sensitivity to comments about her body. In an interview with Allure magazine, the 33-year-old singer discussed the challenges she has faced due to weight fluctuations caused by medication for lupus.
Gomez revealed that she has suffered from eating disorders and that criticism of her appearance has led to insecurities. She mentioned using dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) to cope with negative thoughts and understand her feelings.
The actress had disclosed her diagnosis with bipolar disorder in April 2020. Additionally, she has experienced depression and anxiety. Gomez emphasized that she prefers to be healthy and take care of herself, despite the difficulties caused by weight changes.
In previous statements, Gomez responded to critics about her appearance at the Golden Globes 2023, saying that she doesn't care that she is 'a little bigger'.
