Courteney Cox Directing Thriller 'Evil Genius'

Courteney Cox is directing the psychological thriller 'Evil Genius', starring Patricia Arquette and David Harbour.

The film is inspired by the true-crime documentary series by Barbara Schroeder and Trey Borzillieri. The screenplay is written by Courtney Miles.

'Evil Genius' tells the true story of Brian Wells, a pizza delivery man who died in 2003 after being forced to rob a bank with a bomb strapped to his neck. The cast also includes Michael Chernus, Garrett Dillahunt, Danielle Macdonald, Tom McCarthy, Gregory Alan Williams, Ryan Eggold, Owen Teague, and Harlow Arquette.

'I was gripped by Evil Genius from the moment I saw the documentary,' said Courteney Cox. 'It's stranger than fiction. At times it's darkly funny, and at the same time deeply emotional. It's a story about love, loneliness, manipulation, and the people on the fringes, drawn into something much bigger than themselves.'

Filming is currently underway in New Jersey.
