Kate Hudson revealed that she turned down the role of Mary Jane in the 2002 Spider-Man movie. In an interview, the actress stated that she does not regret her decision, as she had agreed to star in the movie Four Feathers around the same time.

"It's one of those moments where you look back and think it would have been nice to be in Spider-Man," said Kate Hudson, adding: "However, at the same time I had agreed to star in the film Four Feathers, where I met Heath Ledger, we became very good friends and it was a unique experience."

The Spider-Man movie, starring Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst, was a major box office success, while Four Feathers did not have the same fate. Nevertheless, Hudson stated that she was grateful for her experience in Four Feathers.
