Yoko Ono confided in Paul McCartney that she believed John Lennon might have been gay. The revelation came in a 2015 Vanity Fair interview with McCartney, recently republished in connection with the documentary about his post-Beatles life, 'Paul McCartney: Man on the Run'.

According to McCartney, Ono called him after Lennon's death and said, 'You know, I think John might have been gay.' McCartney responded that he wasn't sure and hadn't seen any indication during the 1960s.

McCartney admitted he had heard rumors about Lennon's relationship with the Beatles' manager, Brian Epstein, who was gay, but stressed that he did not believe there was anything romantic between them.

John Lennon and Yoko Ono married in March 1969 and remained together until Lennon's death on December 8, 1980.
