The legal battle over Wendy Williams' guardianship continues, with the New York Supreme Court deciding to extend it until November 5th.

The guardian's lawyer, Sabrina Morrissey, requested the extension due to "complications" arising from challenges to the decision and her role as guardian by family members and Williams' ex-husband, Kevin Hunter.

This development follows Wendy Williams' transfer to a hospital in March. She also underwent new medical and neuropsychological tests, as well as brain scans, which confirm her diagnosis of frontotemporal dementia (FTD) and aphasia, as announced in 2023.

Kevin Hunter filed a lawsuit in June, alleging "abuse, mistreatment, and financial mismanagement" and seeking a new guardian and $250 million in damages. Wendy Williams' legal team acknowledges that she does not have full legal knowledge, but will present evidence to restore her rights.

Wendy Williams has been under guardianship since May 2022, with Sabrina Morrissey responsible for her health and finances.
