Aaron Phypers Accused of Threatening Denise Richards, Abuse

Aaron Phypers is accused of threatening and abusing Denise Richards, according to court documents. The businessman allegedly threatened his cousin, Kathleen McAlister, to prevent her from testifying about the actress's abuse.

According to the indictment, Phypers warned McAlister in January 2022, through an "indirect threat of violence." McAlister testified that she saw Phypers hit Richards, causing her to have a black eye.

The case comes to light after Richards filed a restraining order in July, accusing her ex-husband of physical and psychological abuse. Phypers denies the charges, claiming he never abused Richards and that she was the "aggressive side" in their relationship.

Phypers was arrested and released after posting $200,000 bail. Neither he nor Richards have made official statements.
