First Person in Wheelchair Travels to Space

German aerospace engineer Michaela Benthaus, who uses a wheelchair, made a historic trip to space on a Blue Origin rocket owned by Jeff Bezos.
The launch took place in West Texas and lasted approximately 10 minutes. Benthaus and the other five passengers crossed the Karman line, the internationally recognized border of space.
Benthaus stated that after her accident, she realized how inaccessible the world remains for people with disabilities and that society must be inclusive in all areas.
Blue Origin has already transported more than 80 people into space, including celebrities such as Katy Perry and William Shatner.
