Greek Raymetrics Wins International Innovation Award

Greek company Raymetrics has been awarded an international innovation award at the Hydromet Excellence Awards in the category of “Best LiDAR Application in Weather and Climate Monitoring.”

The award recognizes the pioneering use of LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) technology in monitoring meteorological and climate phenomena. Raymetrics is the first Greek company to receive this award.

LiDAR technology uses pulsed lasers to measure distances and create three-dimensional representations of the atmosphere. Raymetrics develops high-tech applications for aviation, meteorology, environmental monitoring, civil protection, and defense.

Nikos Kontos, President and CEO of Raymetrics, stated that the award is a milestone for the company and for Greece.

Konstantina Efstathiou, Sales Director, accepted the award at the Global Hydromet Excellence Awards ceremony by Varysian.

Based in Athens, Raymetrics collaborates with meteorological organizations in more than 40 countries.
