Austria: Program to Attract Scientists from US Universities

The Austrian Academy of Sciences (ÖAW) has attracted 25 scientific researchers from elite US universities through the APART-USA program.
Scientists from institutions such as Harvard, MIT, and Princeton will each receive 500,000 euros for two years to work at Austrian universities and research institutions.
ÖAW President Heinz Faßmann stated that the program is a "major gain" for science in Austria and thanked Trump for the "brain gain."
Science Minister Eva-Maria Holzleitner emphasized that the initiative sends a message against political interference in research.
The APART-USA program is funded by the Austrian Future Fund (FZÖ) and scientific institutions.
