Hundreds of users in the UK are reporting pancreatic problems after using GLP-1 weight loss and diabetes injections. Some cases of pancreatitis have even led to death.

Acute pancreatitis is a sudden inflammation of the pancreas, often requiring hospitalization. Nearly 400 reports of acute pancreatitis have been recorded in the UK Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) Yellow Card system, linked to Mounjaro, Wegovy, Ozempic, and liraglutide. 181 of these relate to tirzepatide (Mounjaro).

The MHRA is investigating potential genetic factors associated with the onset of pancreatitis and urges healthcare professionals and patients to report any incidents.

Representatives from Lilly (Mounjaro) and Novo Nordisk UK (Ozempic, Wegovy) stated that patient safety is a priority and that they actively monitor the safety data of their drugs.
