Positive News for Infant with Meningitis in Rio: Clear MRI

There is positive news regarding the health of the five-month-old infant being treated for meningitis in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit of the University General Hospital of Patras in Rio.
According to ERT, the MRI scan the baby underwent came back clear. As the director of the Pediatric ICU, Andreas Iliadis, stated in a written statement, the young patient is being treated in the isolation ward of the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit due to aggressive meningococcal sepsis and meningitis.
Andreas Iliadis also stated that the infant has won the battle for life, and the serotype identification is awaited from the meningitis reference center in Athens. The transfer operation was set up in the early morning hours of Sunday at the Zakynthos Hospital.
