15-year-old in ICU with heatstroke in Metsovo

A 15-year-old is being treated in the Intensive Care Unit of the University Hospital in Rio, after suffering heatstroke while hiking in Metsovo.

According to ERT, the teenager suffers from a condition that prevents him from sweating, which, combined with the high temperature, led to his discomfort and fainting.

EKAV rescuers immediately approached him and intubated him on the way to the "Hatzikosta" hospital in Ioannina. He was initially stabilized, but due to the criticality of his condition, it was deemed necessary to transfer him to the Pediatric ICU of the hospital in Rio. Doctors are waiting for the first 24 hours to pass.

As ERT reported, the doctors in Ioannina did an excellent job of keeping him alive.
