Rethymno: Nurse Resigns from National Healthcare System After 20 Years

Katerina Kaloeida-Kontzanaki, a nurse with many years of experience in the Emergency Department (ED) of Rethymno General Hospital, has announced her resignation, citing difficult working conditions and psychological pressure.
As she stated to patris.gr, her decision is due to understaffing, the lack of outpatient clinics that burden the ED, and the absence of protocols. She spoke of professional burnout and lack of respect, stressing that her dignity does not allow her to continue under these conditions.
Kaloeida-Kontzanaki expressed hope that her resignation would raise awareness about working conditions in the National Healthcare System and thanked her colleagues for their cooperation.
