Patras: Mother of 14-year-old from Kefalonia Shares Emotional Experience

The mother of the 14-year-old from Kefalonia, who was treated in the ICU in Patras, spoke about the difficult moments she experienced.

The girl, according to reports, suffered from a rare syndrome that caused inflammation of the central nervous system. Her health deteriorated on August 4th and she was transferred by air ambulance to Karamandaneio Hospital in Patras and then to the hospital in Rio.

Dimitris Bakos, commander of the University General Hospital of Patras, stated that the girl's condition was extremely rare and was caused by a viral disease.

The mother of the 14-year-old expressed her emotion about her daughter's recovery, who is now out of danger but will need physiotherapy.
