OECD: Gaps and Contradictions in Healthcare in Greece

The OECD's «Health at a Glance 2025» report reveals contradictions and unmet needs in the Greek healthcare system. The report compares countries based on five axes: health status, risk factors, access, quality, and system capacity.
According to the report, life expectancy in Greece reaches 81.8 years, slightly above the OECD average (81.1). However, 7% of citizens report poor or very poor health, while structural weaknesses are highlighted, such as avoidable mortality and the burden of chronic diseases, with diabetes reaching 7.2%.
