California Law Mandates Insurance Coverage for Infertility Treatments

A new law in California requires major insurance companies to cover the diagnosis and treatment of infertility, including cryopreservation and in vitro fertilization (IVF). This change, effective January 1st, applies to large group health insurance plans covering employers with at least one hundred employees.
Infertility affects approximately 9% of men and 11% of women of reproductive age in the United States, creating psychological and financial strain.
