Study: Seven Simple Ways to Be Happier

A new study titled "Big Joy Project" examined ways to increase joy in daily life. The study, involving over 17,000 people from 169 countries, focused on short, scientifically-backed activities.
Participants reported improvements in emotional well-being, an increase in positive emotions, and a sense of control over their happiness. They also reported reduced anxiety and improved sleep.
Seven ways to increase your sense of joy:
- Seek awe: Watch impressive nature videos.
- Gratitude: Create lists of things you are grateful for or write gratitude letters.
- Acts of kindness: Do something kind for others.
- Celebrate the joy of others: Express enthusiasm for the successes of others.
- Tune in to what matters: Think about your core values.
- Think about the good you can do: Try to have a positive impact on the world.
- Change your perspective: Find positive aspects in negative experiences.
The study shows that small changes can have big effects on happiness.
