15-Year-Old Faints After Sublingual Nicotine Use: Investigation

A 15-year-old student fainted after using a sublingual nicotine stick, prompting action from the Pharmaceutical Services. According to his parents, the teenager experienced rapid heartbeat and loss of consciousness shortly after using the product.
The Director of Pharmaceutical Services, Elena Panagiotopoulou, described the products as "extremely dangerous," emphasizing the risks to young bodies. The Pharmaceutical Services are receiving increasing complaints and emphasize the ban on the sale of these products.
Despite the ban in place for a year, many kiosks reportedly continue to illegally sell nicotine pouches, mainly to underage students and young athletes. Authorities are also investigating a website that illegally distributes the products, while inspections at kiosks are intensifying.
