Cyprus, through the National eHealth Authority (NeHA) and the University of Cyprus, participated in the final conference of the European project POTENTIAL in Prague, reaffirming its commitment to implementing the European Digital Identity Wallet (EUDIW) for cross-border healthcare services.

The Cypriot delegation presented progress in implementing cross-border ePrescription and developing a prototype wallet, which was connected to the national health infrastructure. Successful tests were conducted with five member states.

In Vienna, the team led a live demonstration of retrieving an ePrescription from a pharmacist in another European country, using the digital identity (HealthID) in the Digital Wallet.

Professor Christos Schizas stated that the application confirms the secure access of European citizens to healthcare services across borders.

The President of NeHA, Professor Konstantinos Pattichis, mentioned that NeHA is in the process of awarding the tender for the development of the ‘myHealth@CY’ application.
