The Minister of Health, Adonis Georgiadis, stated that the image of a collapsing National Health System (ΕΣΥ) does not correspond to reality. He argued that the NHS currently has the most staff in its history.

Mr. Georgiadis admitted that there is a shortage of nursing staff, but stressed that the Ministry of Health receives the lion's share of recruitments each year. He pledged that no auxiliary doctors will be fired while he is minister and that their contracts will be renewed continuously.

In addition, he mentioned that the incentives that have been established have covered 82% of the gaps in regional health centers. The minister described the coincidence of his second term with the opportunity to utilize the Recovery Fund for upgrading and renovation projects as 'blessed'.

Referring to patient questionnaires, Mr. Georgiadis said that the self-assessment system will help improve the public health system.
