Study: Mondays Negatively Impact Our Health
Share on:

A new study reveals that Mondays can negatively impact health, causing stress regardless of whether we work or not.

According to a study published in the Journal of Affective Disorders, Monday is associated with increased levels of the stress hormone, cortisol, even in retirees. The research, which analyzed data from over 3,500 adults, found that older adults who experience stress on Mondays had 25% higher cortisol levels.

Scientists point out that the phenomenon of "anxious Monday" can contribute to the development of cardiovascular diseases. Previous studies have shown that heart attacks increase by about 20% on Mondays.

The researchers hope that addressing the stress associated with Monday could open new avenues for the prevention of cardiovascular diseases.
