Greece: 12 Flu Deaths and 649 Hospitalizations in One Week, EODY Reports

Twelve deaths and 649 hospitalizations due to influenza were recorded in the last week, according to the epidemiological report of EODY for the period of January 19-25.

The EODY report notes an increase in new hospital admissions and deaths, while positivity for RSV also increased.

In addition, 119 new COVID-19 admissions were recorded, a decrease compared to the previous week, as well as two new intubations and eight deaths.

EODY emphasizes that vaccination remains the best preventive measure and strongly recommends that high-risk groups get vaccinated against the flu immediately. It also recommends seeking early medical care in case of symptoms and wearing a mask in enclosed spaces.
