Flu A Outbreak in Cyprus: Recommendations for Vaccination and Prevention
Share on:

Concern is growing over the rapid spread of influenza A, particularly the K subtype, in Europe. In Cyprus, medical services are on alert, although this particular strain has not yet been detected in the community.

Elisavet Konstantinou, Deputy Director of the Ministry of Health, stated that measures have been taken and epidemiological data are being closely monitored. Confirmed cases of influenza A are present, and the outbreak is being recorded earlier than in previous years.

The best protection is vaccination, which is available through personal physicians. It is also recommended that people with symptoms limit contact with others, adhere to hygiene measures, wash hands, use masks, and ventilate indoor spaces.
