First Natural Birth Center in Greece Opens

The first independent Natural Birth Center in Greece, named The Birth Center, has opened its doors in Nea Filothei. The inauguration took place on Tuesday, October 14, 2025.

Co-founders Erietta Kourkoulou Latsi and Katerina Georgakoula welcomed guests and presented the center's philosophy and goals. The Birth Center aims to offer women the option of natural childbirth in a safe, non-hospital environment.

The event was attended by Marianna Latsi, Mr. Paris Kassidokostas Latsis, Mr. Filippos Kourkoulos Latsis, the Minister of Health Mr. Adonis Georgiadis, the Minister of Social Cohesion and Family Mrs. Domna Michailidou, and other state representatives.

Mrs. Kourkoulou-Latsi emphasized the importance of informing women and respecting childbirth, while Mrs. Georgakoula stressed that childbirth is a life experience and not just a medical event.
