Papanikolaou: "The positive energy of the fans gave us a boost"

The captain of the Greek National Team, Kostas Papanikolaou, spoke after the team's arrival at "El. Venizelos" airport about the bronze medal at Eurobasket 2025.

Papanikolaou expressed his emotion at the fans' reception and emphasized the importance of their support. "Thank you for the wonderful reception. We feel very happy, blessed. Their positive energy gave us a boost. With this success, we managed to get into the homes of Greeks," he stated.

He also referred to previous generations of players who inspired his own, such as Zisis, Ntikkoudis, Diamantidis, Papaloukas, and Tsartsaris.
