Elefsina: Helicopter Recovery After Emergency Sea Landing

The firefighting helicopter that made an emergency sea landing in Elefsina on Tuesday was located at a depth of 15 meters. Recovery operations will take place tonight, and the helicopter will be transferred to the 112 Combat Wing.
The helicopter, which was leased, was operating at the fire in Aspropyrgos. While attempting to refuel with water, it was forced to make an emergency sea landing for unknown reasons.
The three occupants - two Americans and a Greek liaison - were rescued by coast guards and transported to Attikon Hospital for precautionary checks. They are in good health with minor injuries.
The location was pinpointed using sonar from a tugboat.
