Maria Karystianou: 'Pain Became Strength' – Speaks about Tempi and Corruption
Maria Karystianou, the mother who lost her 19-year-old daughter, Marthi, in the Tempi train tragedy, gave a personal interview to Down Town magazine, published with Fileleftheros.
In the interview, Ms. Karystianou talks about her pain and how it turned into strength. She also refers to the corrupt system in Greece and the political movement under establishment.
'The holiday season is very difficult... I know I will spend the rest of my life this way,' Ms. Karystianou states.
Referring to the characterization of her as a 'symbol,' Ms. Karystianou notes: 'I cannot understand this word... I believe that society has connected with the event itself.'
