Resident doctors are holding a nationwide work stoppage today, Wednesday, March 11, with a protest gathering at 13:30 outside the Ministry of Health in Athens.

The mobilization, organized by the Federation of Hospital Doctors' Associations of Greece (OENGE), aims to highlight the problems faced by doctors in the public health system.

Doctors are protesting against difficult working conditions, overwork, low wages and staff shortages in public hospitals. According to OENGE, the average weekly working hours of resident doctors reach 72 hours, with limited days of rest.

Doctors report unpaid overtime, professional burnout and an increased risk of medical errors due to working conditions.
