Actor Christos Spanos described his experience in 1997 when he was held hostage by Bulgarian police and forced to pay 20,000 drachmas to be released. The incident occurred when Spanos, then a student, traveled to Bulgaria for the filming of the movie 'Vasiliki'.

According to Spanos, he was asked to transport a film that should not pass through X-rays. At the airport, the police held him hostage for an hour, threatening him with guns, and demanding money.

Spanos described the incident on the show 'Tetragona ton Asteron', saying that the film was not destroyed, despite passing through the X-ray machine.
