Controversy has erupted following the revelation of "friendly" messages exchanged between Prince Harry and a Mail on Sunday journalist, Charlotte Griffiths, in 2011. The disclosure came during the Prince's ongoing lawsuit against a British publishing group for breach of privacy.

According to reports in The Telegraph and The Times, the Prince allegedly sent messages such as "(you) missed a good party" and "I would have… drunk you under the table". He also apparently called Charlotte Griffiths "sugar" and ended his messages with kisses.

The Duke of Sussex had previously stated that he ceased communication with Griffiths upon learning she was a journalist. However, the messages appear to indicate a familiarity between them.

Prince Harry is suing Associated Newspapers Limited, publisher of the Daily Mail, claiming that journalists used illegal methods to gather information. The company denies the allegations.

The trial concluded on March 31, and a decision is expected after Easter.
