Giorgos Markou, Director of MAD, Passes Away at 58

Giorgos Markou, the director of the music channel MAD, has passed away at the age of 58 after a battle with cancer. The news was announced by lyricist Ilias Filippou.

Giorgos Markou served as the General Manager of MAD for more than 15 years. As announced by MAD, he passed away on Sunday morning.

In a post, Ilias Filippou referred to the strength and dignity with which Giorgos Markou faced his illness.

"With deep sadness and pain, all of us, the MAD family, say goodbye to Giorgos Markou...", the MAD announcement states.

Giorgos Markou had a long career in the media and advertising sector, and also served as Commercial Director in major companies in Greece.
