New Voldemort: Bettany, Murphy, or Neither?

HBO has not yet announced the actor who will play Voldemort in the new "Harry Potter" series, leading to speculation. Paul Bettany is rumored to be a candidate, but stated he has not received an offer. Cillian Murphy and Tilda Swinton have also been linked to the role.

Ralph Fiennes, who played Voldemort in the films, reportedly suggested Cillian Murphy as his replacement. However, Murphy denied the rumors in an interview with The Times.

The new "Harry Potter" series will last seven seasons, and filming is underway in the United Kingdom. Dominic McLaughlin, Arabella Stanton, and Alastair Stout will play Harry, Hermione, and Ron, respectively. John Lithgow will play Dumbledore, while Papa Essiedu will play Snape.

The series is expected to be released in 2027 on HBO Max.
