Nemo Reportedly Returns Broken Eurovision Trophy to EBU

Nemo, the 2024 Eurovision winner for Switzerland, has reportedly returned their competition trophy to the EBU broken and wrapped in toilet paper, according to a report by the Swiss media outlet #blick.ch.
This action is believed to be a symbolic protest against Israel's participation in the contest. Nemo had warned since December 2023 that they would return the trophy if the #EBU allowed Israel's participation.
In a statement, the #EBU said: "We are sorry that Nemo returned the trophy they deservedly won in 2024. We respect the deeply sincere views expressed by Nemo that year and will always remain a valued member of the Eurovision Song Contest family."
This action comes at a time of strong reactions regarding Israel's participation in #Eurovision in recent years.
